I have been meaning on opening my own online store for a while now, but was wondering what was the right way to go about it, so I decided to go with BigCartel and spent some time to work on a custom design to integrate the store directly to my website. While working on the Barbatonics serie I kept on wondering what would my own Barbatonic look like, and so I couldn’t help but to design an Extra one, combining an old toy concept I did in 2009 “Mr Toy” with the principales of Elisa Sassi‘s Barbatonics character design. His name is Bonux and he comes with a baby Cowly sleeping on his head.
The Digital Sculptures of the Barbatonics serie are now completed, it was very Fun and worth the effort bringing Elisa Sassi character design to life. although this is not the end, turning the vector illustration into digital Sculpture was just one step of the process, the next step will be to create the physical Prototypes.
2011 was for me the year of my first step into collaboration work with some of my favorite Artists from around the World, few months ago I also had the immense pleasure to chat with the lovely Charuca Varga from Spain and so we made a vector illustration of our respective character: Carmi & Baby Cowly which I then Sculpted Digitally. A while back during my exhibition in Taipei, I had the idea to make my Cowly character out of felt, but of course I never felted anything before that. I thought it would be quite straight forward but turns out it took me a long long time to do… so anyway here is my first handmade 3″ felted Cowly Toy. Hope you guys like it!
In 2008 while learning about human anatomy I started to ask myself, what if my Cowly was real, what would she be like on the inside, and so I started doodling a quick photoshop skeleton on top of a old Cowly illustration. Two year later I found the photoshop doodle in my computer and decided that my Digital Sculpting skills were good enough for me to sculpt the model, recently I have started to produce the first Prototype of my Continue reading
Hey Everyone, I wanted to share few pictures of the free screen printing that went on back during Last exhibition, it was a huge success, people really enjoyed bringing they own blank T-shirt in and see us printing them on the spot, so thanks to everyone that came in. I will make sure to include Screen printing again during futur events, stay tuned.
